In1 set up in South Africa

In1 Solutions Ltd, Swords, County Dublin who specialise in online booking engine technology for the hospitality and tourism industry announced the establishment of In1 Solutions SA Ltd today with offices in Port Elizabeth. The announcement came during the Irish trade mission to South Africa, hosted by the Taoiseach, Bertie Ahern TD and the Minister for Trade, Enterprise and Employment Micheal Martin TD. Victor Garland, Commercial Director, In1 Solutions was upbeat about the business opportunities in South Africa.

“We commenced operations here only last April and we are excited about the opportunities that have emerged in such a short period of time. We have already established a substantial customer base and we will be concluding a number of strategic partnerships that will see us reach profitability in our first year of operations. We have recruited local management and staff that understand the market here and we and we are receiving very positive response from the market.

Sarah Alexandre, General Manager of In1 Solutions Southern Africa said: “The tourism and hospitality sectors here in South Africa are gearing up for the world cup in 2010 and they are looking for partners who can help them capitalise on the rapidly growing online market of free independent travellers who use the Internet to book travel, accommodation and tourism products online. Our products and services fit neatly into the local market while at the same time offering multi-lingual and multi-currency booking options to online consumers. We have already partnered with small, medium and large accommodation providers as well as local tour operators and property management software providers and we are confident of achieving significant growth.”

New Partnership in South Africa

In1 Solutions Ltd, Swords, County Dublin, Ireland and Team Storage Solutions (Pty) Ltd, Johannesburg, South Africa, today signed a strategic partnership to provide E-Commerce distribution services to the hospitality and tourism sectors in South Africa. The agreement brings together African and European expertise in E-Commerce technology and marketing to offer online booking services leading up to the world cup in 2010.

In1 Solutions and Team Storage Solutions have worked together informally in the past. This agreement will accelerate the time to market for accommodation and tourism providers to offer real-time reservations to visitors to South Africa. It will provide a low cost opportunity for small to medium enterprises to enter the online booking market using easily accessible technology that provides multi-lingual and multi-currency reservations services to consumers.

Victor Garland, Commercial Director In1 Solutions said: “We are delighted to be partnering with TSS who has a strong track record of delivering technology solutions to key players in the South African tourism industry. Our technologies combine well but the real benefit of the partnership comes from combining our knowledge of the South African market and the global online booking market. We are targeting to have 1000 properties offering real time reservations online by the end of 2007”.

South African Road Trip planning web site spreads wings for Ireland

A unique tool to research road trips that launched in December, with South Africa as the first destination, is now poised for the release of destination Ireland.

Attending the reception in honour of the Taoiseach (Prime Minister of Ireland), Mr. Bertie Ahern T.D., in Cape Town today, was Mr. Pierre Kleinhans and Toureagle SA Ltd's Ireland director Mr. Victor Garland of In1Solutions.

“I believe that toureagle.com will also contribute well to a market like Ireland where drive vacations are an important part of the tourism industry”, said Garland.

www.toureagle.com, who plans to release in Ireland, (including Northern Ireland) and England during March, is the brainchild of South African entrepreneur Pierre Kleinhans. Toureagle.com is an online trip planner that instantly develops comprehensive itineraries for road trip vacations.

Kleinhans, CEO of Tornado Tour Systems (Pty) Ltd (Tornado), the company that holds the rights to Toureagle.com, said Tornado plans to rollout Toureagle.com globally in the next 24 months.

By entering little more than a starting point, how many kilometres you want to drive at a time and a few of your favourite activities, www.toureagle.com will generate several different itineraries custom made to your specifications. The itineraries include an extensive list of accommodation choices, available activities, restaurants and much more.

“A single toureagle.com search delivers options of up to 70 activity types per town, a comprehensive representation in up to eight accommodation types per town, restaurants, maps and map providers, driving directions and navigation providers, car rentals, 4x4 rentals, and much more” said Kleinhans.

“We noticed a gap for a holiday-planning portal that goes further than any other online road trip planner or search engine,” Kleinhans said.

“We are really committed to helping people plan better vacations in a new way,” said Kleinhans. “Toureagle.com gives users a broad overview of their destination as well as being able to hone into the smallest details, all in a manageable easy-to-use format. Travellers can effortlessly find suppliers they like and plan the ideal road trip holiday.”

Jeff Watson, founder and owner of www.wheretostay.co.za, said: “The Toureagle concept blew our socks off! I firmly believe it will revolutionise the way we plan our holidays.”

Kleinhans said: “We’re linking the consumers’ need for a multi-stop, custom designed, road trip vacation to the tourism suppliers’ need to reach this consumer.”

Tornado plans to expand into a global organisation through regional subsidiaries. The first of these is Toureagle SA Limited, which earns advertising revenue from the South African, England, Ireland and Northern Ireland content on Toureagle.com.

“In these four regions, all popular road trip destinations, Toureagle.com will host 22 000 tourism providers with 10 000 being activity and attraction based,” said Kleinhans.

According to Kleinhans several of South Africa’s major accommodation portals, like www.wheretostay.co.za and www.places.co.za have partnered with Tornado. All properties advertising on these portals will automatically appear on Toureagle.com, creating a comprehensive road trip planning resource.

Some accommodation properties are linked to more than one accommodation portal. A Toureagle.com search will display one property’s links to all these affiliated accommodation portals. Each link presents users with different photographs, information and even charges for the same property. This gives the property more exposure and the traveller the chance to make a more informed choice.

Abrie Coetzee, Founder/Owner of www.places.co.za, said: “I immediately realised the uniqueness of the Toureagle concept. It will have a huge influence on the way people plan their travels in the future.”

Toureagle.com’s itineraries include overnight stays in towns outside the main tourist centres, spreading the benefits of tourism off the beaten track. Kleinhans said: “Using Toureagle.com travellers can plan a very successful holiday without having any previous knowledge of their destination.”

Toureagle.com can also plan trips specifically around activities. If your interests are whale watching and hiking, Toureagle.com can provide a selection of itineraries combining these two activities, said Kleinhans.

“The trend worldwide is for travellers, both young adventure-seekers and the mature discerning traveller, to be more selective in their holiday planning,” he said. “Toureagle.com delivers more than any other product on the market. It actually plans a trip and provides easy access to information about all the relevant suppliers in a single search, all in real time,” he said.

In1 Solutions partner with the Hospitality Association of New Zealand (HANZ)

Lower commissions and better security for online bookings are on offer as a result of a new partnership announced by Hospitality Association Chief Executive Bruce Robertson. The Association, with In1 Solutions Ltd, has replicated a highly successful model that In1 Solutions established with the Irish Hotels Federation several years ago.

Accommodation providers will be able to:

  • Market their property 24/7 to international and domestic travellers
  • List their property on 3 separate websites and only have to update one central point
  • Drive more visitors to their own website
  • Manage their rates and availability in seconds
  • Sell rooms, packages and gift vouchers online
  • No upfront costs, no ongoing charges, and the lowest commission rate in the market.

Mr Robertson hoped that the “power of three” using a provider's website, the new HANZ site www.nzaccommodationonline.com and In1 Solutions existing site www.newzealandin1.com would provide a powerful marketing tool and lessen the temptation to sell rooms through websites capitalising on distressed inventory.

Mr Robertson said the industry would welcome this new offering particularly as there are no upfront costs, no ongoing charges, and the lowest commission payable in the market.

In1 partner IHF exceeds €10M on IrelandHotels.com

Using the Internet to book hotel and guesthouse accommodation offers people the best deals, cheaper prices and is the most important channel for hotels and guesthouses to promote their offering, the President of the Irish Hotels Federation said on the eve of its Annual Conference in Cavan. The IHF stated that the Irelandhotels.com website, its online resource for booking accommodation, has now surpassed €10 million in Internet sales since it was established in 2004. The website, which does not have hidden charges or commission for people when booking, is the most economical site for people to book accommodation in Ireland.

According to Annette Devine, as the site is operated as a not-for-profit enterprise by the IHF on behalf of its members it offers an unrivalled, best value resource to visitors organising holidays and short breaks in Ireland. She stated that the breakdown of users reflected the key markets for Irish tourism:

Ireland56%
UK18%
Europe13%
USA10%
Other3%

During 2006, Irelandhotels.com handled some 32,000 room nights worth some €4 million to its hotels and guesthouses throughout Ireland north and south. This represented an increase of 35% in room bookings and 29% in revenue on 2005 and the IHF suggests that over €6 million in revenue will be generated through the site in 2007.

"Irelandhotels.com has reached a major milestone in driving €10 million in revenues to members since 2004. As an industry, we are seeing an irreversible trend with customers booking their accommodation online and using the Internet to plan and organise their travel experiences while in Ireland. In addition to using Irelandhotels.com to make reservations, travellers frequently use the resource to assess availability prior to making direct inquiries. This translates into a substantial level of follow-on offline sales that are influenced by the website," said Annette Devine.

She added, "We expect to drive over €6 million of accommodation through Irelandhotels.com during 2007. Crucial to this success is the fact that Irelandhotels.com is very user friendly. It is designed to easily allow people select accommodation based on categories such as family breaks, golf holidays as well as spa and leisure retreats. It also provides an advanced search facility which identifies for people accommodation based on price range, hotel type and classification, facilities required and destination. In addition to providing unrivalled transparency in terms of availability and price, the website allows users to avail of last minute rates and sign up for notification of special offers," continued Ms Devine.

Commenting on the success of Irelandhotels.com, Pat Ratcliffe, Chief Executive, In1 Solutions, stated, "The potential of promotion through the Internet is unparalleled. It is far cheaper than producing and distributing thousands of brochures on a property and offers the opportunity for people to have a 'virtual' hotel experience of a property and the facilities on offer. It is the growth area for targeting new markets abroad. Internet is also equal opportunities medium, in that the smallest guesthouse competes on an equal footing with the largest hotel, because the potential guest gets a full preview of both premises and makes a booking based on features, attractions and their own budget. It opens up the possibility for the smallest property to compete with the multinational hotels on the world stage."

Irelandhotels.com is operated by the Irish Hotels Federation in partnership with software solution provider In1 Solutions. Over the past four years, In1 Solutions has worked closely with the IHF to deliver constant innovation and consistently grow customer bookings. Over 70% of Irish hotels and guesthouses in Ireland now use Irelandhotels.com to drive increased bookings and revenue.
